If you like sweet things Guava Paste squares are for you. Guava Paste if
you are wondering is from the tropics= Guava fruit.
Ingredients:
- can of guava paste
- puff pastry (2 levels)
- icing sugar
1. cook two sheets of puff pastry (follow a recipe or instructions on
the box) and let cool for about 5 to 10 minutes
2. heat the guava paste so it is easy to spread.
3. spread the desired amount of guava paste on the bottom layer of puff
pastry and then cover with the other sheet of puff pastry.
4. dust with icing sugar and then cut into squares.
To store the remaining guava paste either freeze it or keep it in an air
tight container in the fridge.
*Note: you can substitute the guava paste with any thick puree or paste
of a fruit, for example, figs or dates.
Guava paste can be found in some specialty stores.
Enjoy!
